Major announcements were made today coming from the African Oil and Gas Conference in Cape Town.
 Exxon Mobil, in a press statement confirmed it has signed its Production Sharing Contract, with Equitorial Guniea for Oil acreage E.G.-11,  hereby heading the list of acreage winners in Equatorial Guinea's latest licensing bidding round.

All winners were revealed by Equatorial Guinea's Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons Gabriel Obiag-Lima on Monday in Capetown at a press conference.

UK based Ophir Energy won the block EG 24, whilst Taleveras picked the highly potential EG-07 Oil block and Clonterf Energy landed Block EG-18.

The West African nation's Ronda 2016 open and competitive bidding round was declared a success by Industry analyst and watchers.

FRSC redeploys 71 Senior commanders including Rivers sector commander who cut the hair of two female officers

A statement by the media aide to the Corps Marshal, Mohammed Sani on Sunday, states that the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC),
Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has redeployed 71 senior officers nationwide, including the Rivers State Sector Commander, Ayodele Kumapayi, who was recently recalled to Abuja for allegedly cutting the hair of two female officers.

Kumapayi now heads the Corps Safety and Transport Office at the National Headquarters, Abuja.

The officers were all redeployed to reconstruct and improve their performance.

The redeployment affected three zonal commanding officers alongside several sector commanders.

Senator Dino Melaye says some residents of his state that are seeking for his recall from the senate are not even members of his constituency and so their demands are not valid.

 Last week, a group of youths from Kogi state petitioned INEC asking for Melaye's recall following the release of a purported audio tape where a male voice allegedly that of Dino was discussing bribe with a female voice, alleged to be that of Justice Akon Ikpeme, the tribunal judge who handled his election case in 2015.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV yesterday, Melaye said the youths demanding his recall are being sponsored by his state governor, Yahaya Bello and his political rival, Smart Adeyemi.

Presidency dismisses nepotism charges leveled against acting president, Yemi Osinbajo

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Legal Matters, Dr Bilkisu Saidu, has dismissed recent comments credited to a faceless Social Media contributor using the name Ismaila Farouk from Zamfara State about appointments made by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, into some Federal agencies and the ones done in the office of the Vice President.

Dr Saidu, regarded as one of the foremost aides to the Acting President, spoke on "Shirin Safe", an interview programme on BBC Hausa Radio on Sunday. She was a law teacher from the Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University Sokoto before she was named an SSA in the Office of the Vice President last year.

She described the nepotism charges as simply laughable, untrue, unfair and should not be taken seriously.

According to her, contrary to Mr Farouk’s conclusions, most senior positions on the Vice President’s office are held by Muslims including by individuals who are from the north.

Britain Attack: Donald Trump resumes feud with London Mayor

President Trump has renewed his feud with the mayor of London on Sunday, portraying him as being soft on terrorism, just a day after seven people were killed and dozens more wounded in the latest attack in the British capital. Mr. Trump attacked the Mayor of London, Mayor Sadiq Khan after Mr. Khan told Londoners not “to be alarmed” by seeing more police officers on the streets.

Nigerian teenager arrested in Florida after he detained his professor and requested for a make-up exam

19-year-old Jude Chiedu Akachukwu was recently arrested after he reportedly imprisoned a Professor against her will at Santa Fe College, Gainesville, Florida. According to a Police report, Jude went into the professor’s office without being invited in, closed the door and blocked the doorway. He insisted that the professor could not leave the office until she agreed to allow him to make up an exam.

    "When the professor declined, he allegedly grabbed her arm as she tried to walk away. She threatened to call the police, and he threw himself on the floor crying."

The professor left her office and went to a nearby classroom to teach but Jude followed and began to disrupt the class. The Police arrested and charged him with false imprisonment, battery and disturbing the peace.

12 arrested after London attack; ISIS claims responsibility

The British authorities made 12 arrests and conducted extensive searches across an East London neighborhood Sunday, after a group of Jihadists attacked innocent people, leaving seven dead and dozens more injured. The SITE intelligence group said Sunday that the Islamic State claimed responsibility for Saturday's attacks.

Eyewitnesses even confirmed that the attackers yelled "this is for Allah,” while they committed the atrocities.
Police said a van plowed into pedestrians on London Bridge, then drove to the nearby Borough Market where the attackers went on a stabbing rampage. Armed officers confronted three suspects, who police said were wearing "hoax" suicide vests, at the market.

Prime Minister Theresa May said Sunday:
"It is time to say enough is enough,"  She called for tougher measures to contain Islamic extremism, saying the recent attacks are not directly linked, but “terrorism breeds terrorism.”

The photo of a young man who fled from Saturday's terrorist attacks with a pint of beer in his hand has gone viral.

The photo, which has been retweeted over 34,900 times, features the man fleeing from the scene of the attack, while making sure his full glass of beer didn't spill, while he ran for his dear life.

The photo provided a moment of dark comedy for some, on a day otherwise entirely colored by tragedy. Howard Mannella who shared the photo tweeted:

Youth Group Refer To Fani Kayode As ''Uncouth, Rude And Crude'' For Using Abusive Language On The Social Media...

Youth For Change NG, an umbrella group of youths committed to enthroning decency in politics, has berated Mr Femi Fani-Kayode over his disparaging tweet against the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Lai Mohammed Says Some People Are Trying To Destroy Nigeria By Spreading Fake News..

The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to be extra vigilant in view of the “worsening cases of fake news being spread by unscrupulous persons, who are bent on destabilizing the polity and causing disunity among the country’s various ethnic and religious groups”.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said over this weekend alone, several major cases of fake news were recorded, each of them capable of causing panic, triggering chaos or setting one group against the other.


He said a gory video of a blast that occurred many years ago was being circulated along with the false news of a bomb blast in Abuja, while news of a non-existent bomb blast in Lagos was also widely circulated, forcing the police to promptly debunk the fake news.
