NNPC Crashes Diesel Price Nationwide by 42%

NNPC has announced a 42% in the reduction of price for diesel nationwide. This is contained in a press statement released by the corporation this evening. Read it below

Price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also known as Diesel, has crashed to about 42% nationwide, a huge downslide over the last six months, following key strategic interventions by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

It would be recalled that in the first quarter 2017, retail prices of AGO, which is one of the deregulated products, shot to an all-time high of N300/litre in major demand centres across the country.

Such unpleasant situation placed a huge burden on truck drivers, who need the product for transporting their vehicles; the nation’s manufacturing sector, which requires it to run its operations as well as on the masses, who need it for household power generation.

However, following strategic intervention efforts by the NNPC towards sustained improvement in the supply of the diesel, the product’s …

US warplane shoots down Syrian jet near Raqqah

A U.S. warplane shot down a Syrian jet on Sunday near the Islamic State-held city of Raqqah, according to US officials, creating the latest escalation between the U.S. and Syria since the civil war began six years ago.
The Pentagon said the U.S.-led coalition took the unprecedented move after a Syrian Su-22 attack aircraft bombed its allies who were fighting Islamic State militants south of the city of Tabqah, roughly 25 miles west of Raqqah.

A U.S.-backed alliance of Kurdish and Arab militia fighters known as the Syrian Democratic Forces, or SDF, is involved in a large-scale offensive on Raqqah, Islamic State’s self-declared capital in Syria.

About 4:30 p.m., Syrian forces loyal to President Bashar Assad attacked U.S. ground partners in the recently recaptured town of Jadin, south of Tabqah, according to a U.S. military timeline. The assault drove the militia fighters from the town. But the U.S. scrambled aircraft to fly over the battlefield in “a show of force” that stopped the pro-go…

We do not consider Nnamdi Kanu an Igbo leader of thought- Presidency

Special Adviser to the president on political matters, Babafemi Ojudu, says the presidency does not consider leader of the Indeginous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, as a leader of thought in the South East. Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Ojudu said the consultations currently being carried out by acting president Yemi Osinbajo is strictly with identifiable leaders of thought and at the moment, Kanu is not one of such leaders in the South East. He said:

“Well, the thing is that we were looking for leaders of the people, leaders of thought and we do not see him as a leader of thought in the east. May be opportunity will come at one time or the other for him to be engaged. But so far, what we have done is to look at people who have influence in the communities, whether it is religious, whether it is traditional, whether it is political, social or governance. These are the people we brought in for discussion”.

Photos Of House Where Kidnapper Evans Kept His Victims

Here's the Igando house where victims were kept.

House 21 Prophet Asaye Close is a bungalow and sits at the end of the road. The floor of the compound is covered with interlocking stones. Carved on the gate is the sentence ‘Jesus is Alive'.

Asked about the activities in the compound, a source said: “They (abductors) kept to themselves. The guy there, whenever he was driving in from outside, the gate would have been opened before he got to the gate. In addition, loud music was always wafting from the bungalow. This always muffled every noise coming from there. This happened mostly in the day time. In the night, of course, the generating set would take over. So, we (neighbours) could never have known what went on there”.

No wonder his wife says he reads Psalm 23 always. Evans took his deceitful act too far. Sigh!

How did you meet Alhaji Adamu?
It was within the week on December 18, 2016, we were home that day when Elizabeth came. She is our neighbour. I know her. She was close to me and she used to come to my house. We ate together. I didn’t know she had any intention. She pleaded with Joy to accompany her to see a man that wanted to assist her with her education. She said she didn’t want to go alone. She also pleaded with me to allow Joy to accompany her and since she was a girl I know, I permitted Joy to go with …
