HOW!!?
A brief write-up in the British Medical Journal claims that doctors found 27 contact lenses in a 67-year-old patient's eye when she was being prepped for surgery at England's Solihull Hospital.

The piece was authored by Rupal Morjaria, a specialist trainee ophthalmologist, Richard Crombie, a consultant anesthesiologist and Amit Patel, a consultant ophthalmologist.

The lenses were clumped together in a "blueish mass" and were "bound together by mucus," according to the journal.

"She was quite shocked," Morjaria, who worked on the patient, told Optometry Today. "When she was seen two weeks after I removed the lenses she said her eyes felt a lot more comfortable."

The patient, though, wasn't the only person who was shocked.

"None of us have ever seen this before," Morjaria said. In fact, she chose to publish the case because most doctors didn't think it was possible for someone to lose so many contact lenses in their ey…

Image
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has rejected calls for the restructuring of the country, insisting that what Nigeria needs is repackaging to enable it to compete favourably on the international stage.

Okorocha, who noted that each of the geopolitical zones in the country had different understanding of the term restructuring, argued that Nigeria was better as a united country. enable it to compete favourably on the international stage.

JOINT PRESS STATEMENT:
PLANS BY SOME MISGUIDED ELEMENTS TO CAUSE DISTURBANCE OF PUBLIC PEACE IN THE STATE
Our attention has been drawn that some misguided elements have perfected plans to disrupt the relative peace through streets protests and to declare that the Anambra State Governorship Election Scheduled for November, 2017 will not hold.

This is to achieve their selfish political aggrandizement thereby threatening democratic processes causing serious security threats in Anambra State in particular, and the Country at large
This is unacceptable and would not be tolerated.

In as much as the Command and sister agencies respect the Right of individuals to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, we would however not fold our arms and watch disgruntled elements truncate the peace in the State which the Law Enforcement Agencies are working assiduously to maintain.

It is to be noted the Governorship Election has been scheduled for November, 2017 by the body responsible for elections in …

youth renaissance group has fired a stinker at Peter Okoye of P-square for insulting the Federal government of Nigeria.

The All Progressives Congress(APC) youth renaissance group has fired a stinker at Peter Okoye of P-square for insulting the Federal government of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the group’s national secretary, Mr Collins Edwin, the APC described Okoye as a ‘son of darkness’.

The statement read in full;

We read the scurrilous remarks credited to Mr Peter Okoye of the Psquare group against the Federal Government’s job-saving policy in the entertainment industry with great anger and vexation.

Least of all persons to make scathing remark against the government is the Psquare group which the local content policy of the Federal Government dusted-up from the valley of obscurity.

Where was Peter Okoye or Psquare brand in 1999 when foreign music dominated our airwaves? If not for the government policy which mandated all broadcast stations in Nigeria to pay attention to Nigerian music by playing 95 percent of Nigerian songs every day, would Peter Okoye or Psquare be known to anybody in Nigeria to…

Minister of Information and Culture, Lia Mohammed, has shed more light on plans by the Federl government to stop entertainers and movie makers from shooting their jobs outside the shores of Nigeria.

Last Saturday, Lai Mohammed disclosed this plan when he spoke at the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) House in Lagos.

In a recent chat with Premiumtimes, Lai Mohammed said the proposed ban would help tackle the exploitation of perceived loopholes in the Nigerian Broadcasting Code, NBC.

“The NBC code today as it stands has been exploited and not defined and that’s why movies being directed by Nigerians with Nigerian actors, actresses can be shot in South Africa and then brought back to be consumed in Nigeria.

All we are saying is that we are going to amend the code in a manner that it will not be possible for you to exploit any loophole there to go and shoot outside Nigeria film, music or programs that are meant to be consumed in Nigeria”.

Speaking further, he said “It is not directed at a…
