Aisha Buhari, charged employers in Nigeria to create an enabling environment for breastfeeding mothers.

Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has charged employers in Nigeria to create an enabling environment for breastfeeding mothers by providing day-care centers, breastfeeding rooms in work places and flexible working hours in order to encourage exclusive breastfeeding among working mothers.

 She said many working mothers want to breastfeed for longer than they currently do and these policies will help them do it. She was speaking during the 2007 World Breastfeeding Week celebrations in Abuja on Tuesday August 1, 2017.
Mrs. Buhari, speaking through Dr. Hajo Sani, Senior Special Assistant to the President, called on Government to prioritize breastfeeding and invest in programmes and policies that foster the environment for sustainable protection, promotion and support for breastfeeding women. She urged media practitioners and owners to use their platform to increase awareness and support for breastfeeding.

Confusion Over The Whereabouts Of The Arrested Alhaji.

There was a disagreement on Tuesday between the Lagos State Police Command and a 51-year-old resident of Magodo Phase II, Alhaji Alaka Abayomi, who was arrested in connection with Badoo killings in Ikorodu.

While Abayomi told PUNCH that the police lacked evidence and had released him,but the command said he was still in custody.

The oil and gas operator was apprehended for his alleged involvement in the attack on a family of five in Oke Ota community, Ibeshe, on Sunday, which led to the death of a couple and two of their children.


The police had said the arrest of Abayomi and two others, whose names were not disclosed, led to the discovery of a Badoo shrine in Agbowa town.

There was, however, a mild drama on Tuesday when punch visited Abayomi’s mansion on PSSDC Road, Magodo Phase II, around 2pm.

His security guard, Usman Zibo, said he had been released by the police and resumed his business activities, adding that he would return home later in the day.

Kick Off Of 2019 David Mark Presidential Campaign In Benue.

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, a youth group in Benue State has kicked off campaign for David Mark’s presidential presidency in Makurid, Benue State.

This is coming barely two weeks after a group under the auspices of Middle Belt Volunteers presented the ex-senate president for president.

Members of the new youth group, who stormed the PDP secretariat in Makurdi on Tuesday, were seen displaying placards bearing various inscriptions in support of David Mark for president.

One of the youth leaders, Otse Samuel described Mark as the only one who was capable of bringing the desired change to Nigeria.

Speaking with dailypost on phone, Samuel called on Nigerian youths to support Mark for president in 2019.

“Mark remains our best choice. He is the only person who can bring the desired change. This change is a scam. We are calling on all Nigerians to support Mark for the task ahead,” he said.

Nigerian Woman Blasts Husband In Court - "You Can't Satisfy Me In Bed".

A Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan on Tuesday dissolved the 10-year-old marriage between one Iyabo Adedayo and her husband, Babatunde, over lack of s*xual satisfaction and irresponsibility.

The President of the court, Mr Ademola Odunade, said that the marriage was dissolved due to irreconcilable differences.

“It is possible to take horse to the river, but impossible to force it to drink water.

“The court tried to settle the matter between Iyabo and Babatunde, but there was no solution.

“Therefore, in the interest of peaceful coexistence, the union between Iyabo and Babatunde has been terminated.

“Iyabo shall take custody of the four children produced by the union.

“Babatunde shall pay a monthly feeding allowance of N10, 000 for the upkeep of the children in addition to being responsible for their education and other welfare needs,” he said.

Iyabo, the petitioner, had told the court that the respondent had been unable to satisfy her sexually.

Yesterday August 1,2017,Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN,  assured Nigerians that the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government will surely deliver on its promises to Nigerians despite numerous challenges facing the economy and the country.

Speaking earlier today in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state, at conclusion of a Federal Government- Progressives Governors' Forum parley, Prof. Osinbajo urged state governors elected on the platform of the APC to make extra efforts to deliver on the promises made to Nigerians in 2015.
