Pharmacists in Nigeria have lost confidence in the leadership of the Health Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole, President of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Ahmed Yakasai has said.
Speaking with newsmen at a media parley organised to mark the 2018 World Malaria Day, held at the PSN office in Lagos on Wednesday, Pharm Yakasai said the health minister has been acting as if he was minister of medical doctors alone, rather than working to protect the interest of all professionals in the health sector.
The PSN helmsman said what pharmacists and other health workers currently on strike want is equity and not equality, noting that without fairness, equity and justice to all health professionals in the health sector, it will be impossible to stop the spate of unwholesome strike action by health workers in Nigeria.

The threats to the islands are twofold. In the long term, the rising seas threaten to inundate the islands entirely.
More immediately, as seas rise, the islands will more frequently deal with large waves that crash farther onto the shore, contaminating their drinkable water supplies with ocean saltwater, according to the research.
The islands' face climate-change-driven threats to their water supplies "in the very near future," according to the study published in the journal Science Advances.
The study focused on a part of the Marshall Islands in the equatorial Pacific Ocean. Hilda Heine, president of the Marshall Islands, said in an interview that Wednesday's journal article "brings home the seriousness" of the predicament facing her island nation.
The research also has ramifications for the US military, whose massive Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site sits, in part, on the atoll island of Roi-Namur - a part of the Marshall Islands and the focus…
Speaking at the Common Wealth Business Forum in Westminster on April 18, 2018, Buhari said :
"Nigerian youths are lazy, uneducated; and don't like to do any work because they believe their country is an oil-rich nation, thus always wanting free oil money "
Sir, you are absolutely correct. One of the lazy Nigerian youths who is enjoying free oil money had an accident with the power bike he bought with free oil money not too long ago, and he was flown abroad for treatment with free oil money, then he hired a jet with free oil money from London to Abuja after his treatment.
Sir, we Nigerian Youth completely agree with you that the Nigerian youths are lazy and uneducated and always wanting free oil money. Their role models are in Aso Rock enjoying free oil money without even solving any security or economic problem for the country. When they are ill, they fly abroad for medical vacation with free oil money.
Why would anyone disagree with you that the Nigerian youths are…
House of Reps is currently in a rowdy session over calls for impeachment of President Buhari by Rep Kingsley Chinda over illegal withdrawal of $462 million to pay for 12 Tucano jets without NASS approval.
this is corruption and looting...
The current cost of same Tucano jets bought and deployed in Afghanistan is still $10.47m per jet as at today.
But Buhari approved $469m instead of $125.64m for 12 pieces to be delivered in 2020, thereby increasing the cost of one jet to $39m with Nigeria losing $343.36m in the deal.
Yet all done without budgetary allocations for it and without National Assembly approval.
