BIAFRA -Obasanjo Explains Why Nigerians Must Stop Nnamdi Kanu

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that Nigerians must do everything possible to stop the agitation for Biafra led by Nnamdi Kanu.
According to dailypost He stressed that failure to do so could lead to a repeat of the 1966 coup and the events that led to unprecedented bloodshed in the country.

He said this at the International Conference Centre, Abuja during the launch of the biography of late Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari on Tuesday.

According to Obasanjo, the top most lessons for Nigerians to learn from unfolding events in the country are that the nation has had enough of tragedies.

“What lesson can we learn? The lesson we can learn is that we have had enough tragedies in this country.

“So far, since 1999, it seems that we have got it right. Let us hope that we continue to get it right and learn that Nigeria has had enough of bloodshed, enough of sacrifices by those victims, that Nigeria deserves peace, unity and progress,” Obasanjo asserted.

The two-time Head of State also gave r…

What We Don't Want to Hear: Leadership Is Hard

We live in an age when distrust of leaders is, perhaps, at an all-time high. I don't have any statistics to verify that. However, if my Facebook and Twitter feeds are a reasonable sample, if the blogs and columns and books I read are an indication, people today just don't like the people who lead them.

For instance, Congress approval rating is at an all-time low. The latest negotiations over the Fiscal Cliff exposed the dysfunction in Washington between Republicans and Democrats. And so everybody, everywhere teed off on the politicians.

I think we've arrived here for two reasons. First, the last few generations have seen the stunning and tragic fall of leaders of all stripes, from Presidents to politicians. We've seen leaders abuse power, not only in Washington, but in the church, in the home, in the community, in business. Many wonder if there are any honest leaders left. Over the Christmas break and into our vacation, I read a few books on the American Presidents. I&#…

6 Valuable Tips For Networking

Networking becomes significantly easier when you understand what it entails and what it takes to succeed at it. Jumia Travel shares 6 valuable tips for networking.

Begin Networking Before You Need It
Desperation has an aura that can easily be discerned, as a result it might be counter-productive to begin zealous networking efforts at the hour of your greatest need. You can end up putting people off because people can sense when someone is only out to use them and help himself/herself. Networking when you aren’t desperate and have no immediate ulterior motives, can help you build better relationships and a good reputation for being friendly and generous rather than desperate and self-serving.

Plan Before Hand
This is a very important tip, especially if networking isn’t exactly your strong suite. Laying down clear details of the talents, strengths, skill sets and connections that you have and can take advantage of to enhance your networking efforts can make networking much easier for you…

3 Reasons Why Fasting Still Matters

With increased violence and the rise in natural disasters, it's easy to start believing it's safer to stay home than to risk venturing out into an unstable world.

2 Timothy 3:1 states that perilous times will come, yet, God assures me that He hasn't given me a spirit of fear (2 Tim 1:7).

So how do I live a peaceful life in unpredictable surroundings?

Scripture gives examples of men and women who turned to fasting when seeking God's direction, freedom, and safety in unstable times.

1. Fasting Brings Direction in Life
In making major life decisions such as where to live or what job to take, my husband and I spend time fasting, and seeking God's direction. Doing so helps us to be confident and assured of God's leading, especially when our choices have led us to live in the Tsunami Capital of the world or in the middle of Hurricane Alley.

Psalm 32:8 states that when I look to God for direction, He will instruct and teach me the way to go, counseling me and keepin…

Stop Living Fake Lives – Sound Sultan to Nigerian musicians

Music star, Sound Sultan, has cautioned Nigerian musicians who flaunt wealth on social media, yet have nothing in reality. According to him, one should take care of his/her inner satisfaction before trying to meet up with strangers' expectation. His words:

It's like constantly painting an empty house, .which you reside in.
Take care of your inner satisfaction before trying to meet up with strangers expectation of you based on the industry lies and fake perception you try to keep up. Enjoy your life by enjoying your life! You dig? GOOD LUCK"

How To Forgive Someone Who Isn’t Sorry

I have a confession to make. I am the last person who should be preaching to anyone about forgiveness. I chose to write this and now I’m wondering if I was too big for my britches (forgive the idiom, I was born and raised in the South). I am the least qualified person to teach anyone how to forgive.

Forgiveness is one of my biggest weaknesses. I struggle to forgive myself and I struggle to forgive others. I know how stereotypical that sounds — a woman who holds grudges — and I apologize to those of my gender for carrying on the stereotype.

I know you probably clicked on this post because of the title, because maybe you are struggling to forgive someone in your life and you thought this would help. All I know to do is to bare my soul and be as open as possible about my struggle and how I’m trying to overcome it.

I am struggling to forgive someone; a couple of someones, actually. It would probably be easier to do if this person asked for forgiveness, but they haven’t. And to be honest, I …

Know What Benchmarking Is

You should understand how employers decide their salary levels and use that information to guide your salary negotiations. Companies don’t just use arbitrary salary ranges for employees, they use a variety of benchmarking tools for this. They typically compare pay rates with the average pay of other companies in their industry, average pay of professionals with your level of experience and education, and the average pay of professionals in your field in their area of the country. You should try as much as possible to know the ‘salary norm’ in the industry of your job search and negotiate effectively within that range.

How Do I Know If I Am Enough For My Husband?

I cuddle up to him as he sits and reads on the couch. I sheepishly look into his eyes and wish he could see the turmoil of my heart. "Do you love me?" I ask and wait with baited breath for his response.

Tenderly he lifts my chin and smiles, "Of course I love you."

And I know he does. In the time I have known him he has never done anything to make me believe otherwise.

Yet I doubt. I wonder if he loves me. I wonder if I am enough.

Rewind fifteen years to a collection of women sitting around a u-shaped table. I was twenty-something, in a room of other up-and-coming twenty-somethings who had been chosen for a "preacher's intensive" with a world class speaker. She was introduced and the room silenced in awe.

"What have you got to prove?" she asked.

And one by one, we acknowledged what we had to prove.

All who went before me answered something along the lines of, "I have to prove Jesus is the Son of God who died for the sins of the world." Ve…

Yesterday, Vogue magazine shared a naked photo of Celine Dion on instagram, which showed the 49 year old singer sitting on a chair with her arms folded and legs crossed and wearing nothing during a trip to Paris.Vogue wrote;

"Here's a little naked fact to ponder while Celine Dion changes looks between shows: for the past five years she has worn haute couture near exclusively for her own performances (in Las Vegas and on her current "mini-tour" of Europe). For Celine's orders, the houses send teams to Nevada for typically three fittings, before the garments are ultimately finished in her local, private atelier. Armani Prive, Schiaparelli, Giambattista Valli, Versace...only a partial list. Everyone, basically. In Vegas, V…
