Federal High Court Refuses To Stop INEC On Melaye’s Recall

Embattled Senator Dino Melaye failed on Thursday in his bid to stop the ongoing recall process by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Justice John Tsoho in an ex-parte ruling rejected Melaye’s motion for a temporary injunction restraining INEC from proceeding with the recall process until the determination of suit challenging his recall.

Instead, the judge ordered parties in the case to “maintain status quo pending the hearing of the motion on notice.”

Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) argued Melaye’s ex-parte motion.

The judge adjourned till September 29 hearing of Melaye’s motion on notice and applications filed by three individuals, led by Chief Cornelius Olowo, who applied to be made parties in the suit.

In the main suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/587/2017, with INEC as the only defendant, Melaye faulted the recall process, saying it was tainted with political malice and initiated by his political enemies.

The Senator denied any wrongdoing and claimed he was being targeted for standin…

Gov Threaten Showdown With Magu Over Paris Club Refund Probe

Nigerian governors have concluded plans to report the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, to the Federal Government.
The governors also said they would embark on what they described as “a showdown” with Magu over the anti-graft agency’s probe into the recently-released Paris Club loan refunds to the states.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, who is also the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, stated this while speaking with some journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

He said the leadership of the EFCC was not planning to win the numerous corruption cases in courts, but would prefer to engage in media trials.

Yari, who has been accused by the EFCC of diverting part of the refund, stated that the governors were tired of being intimidated and harassed by the anti-graft agency on how they spent the money.

The governor specifically responded to an order by a Federal High Court that the sums of N500m and $500,000, said to have been dive…

Wolves Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme Diagnosed With Acute Leukaemia

Wolves and Nigeria goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is to begin chemotherapy after being diagnosed with acute leukaemia.

The Championship club say Ikeme, 31, returned "abnormal blood tests" during pre-season testing and further checks confirmed the diagnosis.

Ikeme has been with Wolves for his entire career, making more than 200 appearances for Wanderers.

Thirty-three of those came last season, having previously been in the team that won the League One title in 2013-14.

"It would be an understatement to say that everyone at Wolves has been shocked and saddened to hear the news of Carl's diagnosis," said Wolves managing director Laurie Dalrymple.

"That relates to both players and staff as Carl has been at the club for a very long time and remains such an integral personality within the group.

"At the same time, we all know what a fighter and a competitor Carl is, and I have no doubt that he will take all of those attributes into this battle.

"Similarly, its goes wi…

6 Ways To Put Up With A Difficult Boss

Dealing with a difficult boss can be entirely frustrating, but thankfully there are some ways to successfully put up with it. Jumia Travel shares 6 ways to put up with a difficult boss.

Understand Their ‘Why’
It easier to deal with a difficult boss when you are able to understand their ‘prime motivations’, that is, the reason they do what they do. The more you understand this, the more you will be able to manage your expectations, deliver the desired results and successfully deal with your difficult boss. Try to figure out what drives your boss; figure out his/her concerns, core values and priorities; try to know understand what he/she cares about; what frightens he/she; what kind of person is he/she; and how does he/she measures success.

Work Around Their Weaknesses
In trying to understand your boss, you’ll gain some insight into his/her weaknesses. When you do, you then need to go a step further and learn to work around such weaknesses and as much as possible, try to make the best of…

5 Interesting Life & Money Lessons

This year I decided to tread new waters and launch a new venture to develop leaders: a leadership podcast, featuring conversations with some top voices in faith, business, media and sports.

From Fox News’ chief religion correspondent, to Auburn’s football head coach and the former president and CEO of Walmart U.S., each episode features a guest with a unique perspective on life, faith and leadership.

Recently, I had the honor of talking with Dave Ramsey. When it comes to biblical financial wisdom, no one has had more reach or impact than Dave. Through his national radio broadcast, books, and financial management university, he helps thousands of people find financial peace and freedom every day.

Here are five lessons on life and money I learned talking with him.

1. Success is all about the size of your legacy, not the size of your stuff.
In a world obsessed with names, brands and money, it’s easy to confuse success with a pile of stuff. After all, what more tangible evidence can you ask …
