2017 Post-UTME Screening Exam, Postponed At UNN.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has postponed its 2017 post-UTME screening exam earlier scheduled to start on Monday September 11.

Its Registrar, Chris Igbokwe, announced this in a statement on Saturday in Nsukka.
The registrar said a new date would be made known to the general public.

“This is to inform the general public that 2017 post-UTME screening exam earlier scheduled to start on Monday September 11 and end Saturday September 16 has been postponed,” the statement said.
“An updated timetable for the rescheduled Post-UTME screening tests will be published later.

“Please visit UNN Website regularly for update.”
Mr. Igbokwe said registration for the post-UTME exam was ongoing.
He urged candidates who made UNN their first choice and scored 200 and above that had been experiencing difficulties in generating invoice in their online registration to continue to try.

A Nigerian man has been mysteriously struck with imbecility after many years of sleeping with the daughter in Kwara state.

It was a tragic story that started much earlier, when, John Oyewo, the 67-year-old resident of Manfile community in Upper Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin in South Local Government Area of Kwara State, and formerly married to one Yetunde, separated from her to marry another woman, by name, Feyisayo, in 1992.

Between Yetunde and John, they had a girl, Esther. Then 15, she would go to stay with her dad, and her new wife, now her stepmother who was a businesswoman and was often away from home. Inauguration Of Health Insurance Council By Governor Obiano.

Gov. Willie Obiano has inaugurated a 13-member Governing Council of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency to facilitate health delivery services in the state. A statement made available to newsmen in Awka on Saturday noted that council was inaugurated at Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, by Gov. Willie Obiano.

The council has Dr Philip Umezoke as its Chairman, while Mr Emmanuel Ezeoke would serve as the secretary. Other members are: Anambra Commissioner for Health, Dr Josephat Akabuike, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Ifeatu Onejeme and Dr Eric Anazodo of the Nigeria Medical Association.

Teachers To Be Diligent In Their Duties As School Resumes,- NUT.

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has appealed to its members to be diligent in their duties as schools resume for the 2017/2018 academic session on Monday.
Mr Micheal Olukoya, National President of the union, made the appeal in an interview with newsemen in Lagos.

Olukoya urged teachers to excel in their duties because the future of the pupils was in their hands. He also called on parents to ensure their wards had the required educational materials for learning to get the expected results.

“The government should provide the necessary learning environment to guarantee an optimal result,” he said. On the ongoing strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Olukoya appealed to the Federal Government and ASUU to arrive at an amicable settlement.

The NUT president said that an urgent settlement was necessary because incessant strikes had negative effects on education. “Preparing students as teachers or any other profession in the midst of strikes is uncalled for.
