In a massive show of support and endorsement, thousands of Ogoni trooped to Government House, Port Harcourt on Tuesday night, where they declared that Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike deserves a second term.
 As the Ogoni people  approached, the gates of the Rivers State Government House were thrown open. They overwhelmed the 2000-person capacity Banquet Hall and had to be moved to the Open Field of the Government House, where the governor addressed them.

The Ogoni supporters came all the way from Khana, Gokana, Eleme and Tai Local Government Areas of the state. They declared  that they were impressed by the excellent performance of Governor Wike, especially his developmental projects in Ogoniland.

Addressing the Ogoni supporters, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike assured that his administration will enhance development in Ogoniland.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that most of the kidnapping  and armed robbery taking place in the state are perpetrated by operatives  of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The governor  stated that the embattled Rivers State Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) Commander, Mr Akin Fakorede and his operatives have been indicted by an official Police Signal, which indicated  that they are responsible for the  series of kidnapping and deadly robbery  across the state.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday at the Government House Port Harcourt, Governor Wike stated that the SARS Commander was planted in the state to sabotage  the security architecture of the state and create an atmosphere  of fear.

The governor said that criminal activities of Mr Fakorede were uncovered by the Inspector General of Police X Squad Abuja deployed to the state after the squad busted the attempted kidnap of one Mr Azumana Ifeanyi on September 11, 2017 at the GRA, Port Harcourt.

United Nations Sanctions North Korea Over Lunch Of Nuclear Missile.

The United Nations Security Council on unanimously imposed new sanctions on North Korea, slapping a ban on textile exports and restricting shipments of oil products to punish Pyongyang for its sixth and largest nuclear test.

With backing from China and Russia, the council adopted a US-drafted sanctions resolution just one month after banning exports of coal, lead and seafood in response to North Korea’s launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

US Ambassador Nikki Haley said the tough new measures were a message to Pyongyang that “the world will never accept a nuclear-armed North Korea,” but she also held out the prospect of a peaceful resolution to the crisis.

“We are not looking for war. The North Korean regime has not yet passed the point of no-return,” Haley told the council.

“If it agrees to stop its nuclear program, it can reclaim its future. If it proves it can live in peace, the world will live in peace with it.

Rivers State Government Shuts Down 40 Private Schools.

There was panic in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, yesterday, following the closure of over 40 private nursery, primary and secondary schools by the state government for illegal operation and late resumption.

The state’s Ministry of Education had, based on an order by Governor Nyesom Wike, moved to seal off schools that do not have approval to operate.

IPOB Allegedly Clashed With The Hausa Community In Rivers State.

There was a bit of unrest in Rivers State on Tuesday when some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)  allegedly clashed with the Hausa community in Oyibo Local Government Area of Rivers.

According to an  eyewitness, who simply identified himself as Frank, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident left many injured from both sides.

He said the incident started when the suspected members of IPOB gathered at Timber Junction awaiting other members to join a procession to Aba, Abia.

“Thereafter, soldiers rounded up the IPOB members using force to disperse the gathering and leaving many IPOB members injured.

“A deadly confrontation immediately ensued between IPOB members and soldiers and ultimately led to some members venting their anger on the Hausa community in the area,” he said.

Another eyewitness, Ibiere Tamuno, said that several properties were destroyed during the clash.

"Bukola Saraki Only Represent His Personal interest" -A Group In Kwara.

Trouble seems to be looming for Senate President, Bukola Saraki as posters calling for his recall have flooded Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The circulating posters, designed and shared by a group known as ‘Kwara Must Change’ were spotted around major junctions and highways in the state.

The group inscribed on the poster:
*Kwara is not represented at the senate, our senator only represents his personal interest.
*Saraki and his aides are selling Kwara Central slots that should be given to unemployed in Illorin to highest bidder as high as N10m.

*Saraki has taken several questionable actions that have negatively affected the economy of the country, as well as Iliorin.

*We can no longer tolerate the deceit, Illorin has been deceived enough. We must change now.

McDemott Ufuoma Loses Brother, Eseoghene To Kidney Disease.

Nollywood Actress Ufuoma McDemott has announced the passing of her brother, Uvie Eseoghene Ejenobor.

She announced the sad news on her Instagram page.....

Gov Ikpeazu Of Abia State Declared Three-Days Curfew In Aba Over Nnamdi Kanu Military Tension.

Following the tension in Aba, the Abia State capital, the State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has imposed a three-day curfew in the commercial city.

The tension is not unconnected to the current face-off between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and men of the Nigerian Army.

Recall that soldiers allegedly besieged the Umuahia residence of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The state government said the curfew starts from 6pm to 6am on Tuesday and ends on Thursday.
