Prof Princewill Chike Declared That There Is No Case Of Monkeypox In The State.

The Rivers State Ministry of Health says that there is no cases of monkeypox infection in the state. The epidemic rapid response team have located, accessed, ruled out and cleared the three  suspected persons in Obio Akpor Local Government Area.

The state Commissioner, Prof Princewill Chike made this known yesterday to  journalist in his office and assured the citizenry that there is no cause for Alarm as the ministry have deployed every means to prevent the import and spread of the disease into the state.

He noted that His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike has fully mobilized the ministry and provided the necessary logistics to this effect.

Prof.Chike however advised residents to observe standard hygiene measures noted that transmission could be through body fluids or blood of infected animal and humans.

The health commissioner highlighted possible symptoms of the virus while noting that proactive measures have been put in place by the ministry.

The Super Eagles Of Nigeria Qualifies For FIFA World Cup 2018.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have become the first African team to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia after beating Zambia.

Super Eagles have secured their ticket to the next World Cup in Europe after a breathtaking defeat of the Zambians in the Southern part of the country.

The Eagles secured the qualification on Saturday evening with a game to spare in Group B with Alex Iwobi’s lone goal in the 74th minute.

Gernot Rohr’s men humbled their Zambian visitors at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, following an impressive performance against Cameroon.

With the victory, the three-time African champions are leading the group with 13 points from five games, while Zambia sit second with seven points from the same number of games.

On the other hand, Cameroon are third in the group with six points and Algeria with just one point, both from five games.
It will be Nigeria’s sixth appearance at the World Cup tournament.
