In a show of solidarity Libyan Returnees are offered land and take of grant in edo state.

Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State has approved 150 hectares of land and N100million seed capital for the 150 Libyan returnees and victims of human trafficking, who completed a skills acquisition training at the Edo Agricultural Development Programme (ADP) office in Benin City, the Edo State capital. 

Obaseki, who made the announcement during the graduation ceremony of the returnees, directed the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources to immediately liaise with the relevant authorities towards securing the land for the returnees to commence agribusinesses.

According to the Governor, the returnees will be organised into cooperatives under the supervision of the Benin Owena River Basin Authority and the Edo Agricultural Development Programme (ADP). S

The Libyan embassy in Nigeria has issued a statement on the outrageous practive of slave trade that was recenty uncovered in the country by CNN.

In the statement, the embassy says the government of Libya has ordered an immediate investigation on the criminal activity.

See how man trying to mimic TV stunts ended up burning down 38 buildings

A man who tried to replicate a TV stunt ended up setting off a massive fire that damaged 32 buildings, displaced at least 18 people and forced the city to declare a state of emergency.

According to officials, it all began because a man wanted to imitate a stunt he'd seen on TV. The fire broke out Thursday in a neighborhood in Cohoes, New York.

Cohoes Fire Department Chief, Joseph Fahd said the man was trying to bend metal with fire in a barrel. He was trying to create a sword like something he'd seen done in the TV show, "Forged in Fire."

The reality show pits bladesmiths against each other as they compete to recreate historical weapons. But it was very windy that day. And the extreme wind conditions caused the fire to spread several blocks, Fahd said. It took firefighters six hours to get the fire under control.
