I want my daughter home for Easter— Leah Sharibu’s dad of Dapchi.

Nathaniel Sharibu, a Police Officer and father of Miss Leah Sharibu, the 15-year old Dapchi schoolgirl still being held captive by Boko Haram for her refusal to convert to Islam, yesterday pleaded with the Federal Government and all Nigerians to ensure the release of his daughter before the Easter celebrations.

Governor Wike is being recognised for his remarkable Support in Sports.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has been nominated for the prestigious International Sports Press Association-Africa (AIPS) Africa Power of Power (POS) Award.

In a nomination letter to the Rivers State Governor, dated 26th March, 2018, President AIPS Africa, Mitchell Obi said that Governor Wike is being recognised for his remarkable fidelity in raising the bar of sports matters and using sports as a catalyst for development.

The AIPS Africa also recognised the role of Governor Wike in Nigeria through the use of sports as a tool to effectively engage the youth population in the continent.

The letter read: “The decoration of this badge of honour will take place at the continental meeting in Brussels on the 8th/9th of May 2018”.

Emir of Kano to spend 36 months in jail.

A Kano Senior Magistrates’ Court on Monday sentenced a 20-year-old student, Sultan Bello to 36 months imprisonment for impersonating the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the convict who resides at Ja’oji New Court Road Quarters, Kano, is being tried on a three-count charge of impersonation.
