The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, goes after patience Jonathan again.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, adduced reason behind its bid to take possession of two Abuja properties that were linked to wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience.

It told the Federal High Court in Abuja that the said properties, registered in the name of Ariwabai Aruera Reachout Foundation/Women For Change and Development Initiative, a pet project initiated by the former first lady, are currently subjects of money laundering investigations. EFCC insisted that it would be legally improper for the court to hear any counter-application from the former first lady regarding its request for interim forfeiture order on the properties.

Meanwhile, in a counter-motion, Mrs. Jonathan, through her lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, challenged the powers of EFCC to take possesion of assets of her Foundation.

He said, “The prof is not in the office. He has not been coming since his alleged conversation with a female student went viral. I don’t know where he is, but he has finished his sabbatical and has come back to the campus before this scandal broke out.”

The Senate was almost disrupted following a deafening uproar following a claim by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe that President Muhammadu Buhari is incompetent.

Abaribe’s allegation followed an adopted order 43 which he raised in reference to the excuse which the President gave while in London that the killer herdsmen were allegedly trained by Muammar Gaddafi, the late Libyan revolutionary leader.

In his explanation, Abaribe said, before now, two excuses have been made public in several fora by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahaman Dambazzau and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim kpotun Idris, saying the wanton killings by armed herdsmen was because their pastoral routes were blocked while the latter was credited to have said that it was due to the new state laws against open grazing.

He said, “Yesterday in London, President Muhammadu Buhari said the killings in the country was as a result of the people who were trained by the late Muammar Gaddafi. This, therefore, validates my earlie…
